Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Resort Review: Newest Sandals Property in the Caribbean
When I arrived at Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, my first thought was how truly lovely and stunning this new Sandals resort in the Caribbean is. Nestled on 50 acres with 301 rooms spread across 15 different categories, it instantly felt like paradise. The resort photographs beautifully, but experiencing it in person truly brings the natural beauty and thoughtful design to life.
Arrival and First Impressions at Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Opting for a private airport transfer made the journey smooth and quicker, allowing me to begin relaxing sooner. Upon arrival at the resort, the friendly staff welcomed my husband and I with refreshing cool towels and a charming welcome song. The check-in process took place in the air-conditioned Club Lounge using a tablet, which was efficient and modern.
The open-air lobby impressed me with its calming, soothing vibe. Soft browns, tans, and whites accented with greenery create a peaceful ambiance. The Caribbean’s longest pool stretches from the lobby area right to the ocean, setting the perfect tone for a tranquil stay.
Luxury Suites and Accommodations at Sandals Saint Vincent
I stayed in the Lady Palm Club Suite with Media Room and Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub, a spacious 741-square-foot suite featuring a coastal design. This room has a dedicated media room perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun, a spa-like bathroom with a soaking tub and rain shower, and a balcony overlooking the entire resort and ocean.
What made this suite extra special were thoughtful touches like complimentary locally sourced milk and dark chocolate and ample storage space. The calming neutral color scheme and light hardwood finishes made the suite feel like a true home away from home.
Dining Options at Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Dining at this newest Sandals resort was a highlight of my trip. With 12 incredible restaurants, there’s something to satisfy every craving:
Butch’s Island Chop House: My favorite spot, serving a delicious filet paired with mushrooms and gluten-free flourless cake.
Parisol: An open-air restaurant where I enjoyed breakfast with an unforgettable ocean view.
Gatsu Gatsu: Specializing in sushi and Japanese cuisine, the sushi was outstanding, and the beef tenderloin was a treat.
The Jerk Shack: Authentic Jamaican jerk chicken and fish that captured the island’s flavors perfectly.
Imoro: A salad lover’s paradise where you can build your own fresh salad — I ate here almost every day!
Plus Blum, Pizzia Isola, and Creama offering coffee, snacks, pizza (including gluten-free), and sweet treats.
There were only 4 locations I did not try: Three Jewels Rum Bar, Sora, Buccan, Scrimshaw. I did hear positive feedback from others staying at the resort about each of these though.
Beach, Pools, and Activities at Sandals Saint Vincent
The beach here is a unique blend of natural volcanic black sand and imported white sand, creating a peaceful cove-style retreat. The water is clear and calm, perfect for spotting fish close to shore, though with volcanic rocks and camouflaged crabs, I highly suggest packing water shoes!
The resort features the Caribbean’s longest pool, an infinity pool by the beach, and several other pools including a swim-up bar. Loungers around the pools and beach areas provide plenty of space for relaxing.
One memorable excursion I took was the Dark View Falls & Historical West Coast Experience, visiting iconic spots like Wallilabou Bay (from Pirates of the Caribbean), the 13 Stones site, and the stunning Dark View Waterfalls accessed by a bamboo bridge. We even were able to see La Soufriere (an active volcano) from Richmond, the island’s farthest accessible point by vehicle.
Spa, Wellness, and Exceptional Service
I enjoyed a relaxing couples Himalayan Stone Massage at the spa, a highlight of my wellness experience. The resort also features a well-equipped fitness center, and some suites even have private fitness rooms.
What truly makes Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines stand out is the attentive and friendly staff. Their care, especially around my gluten-free dietary needs, made me feel comfortable and well looked after throughout my stay.
Tips for Visiting Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Getting to Saint Vincent requires a bit of planning. I flew direct from JFK in about 5 hours, but options are limited and sometimes involve connections. Sunscreen and bug spray are essential for this tropical destination.
